An Unloaded Shotgun or Rifle carried by a law abiding individual is legal anywhere a firearm is not otherwise prohibited by law in California.

On Sunday 10/9/11, California gun owners and sportsmen were dealt another blow when Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the anti-gun bill AB 144.
Assembly Bill 144 bans the open carrying of an
unloaded handgun effective 1/1/12.
